The Professor Dr. Max Cloëtta Foundation has been active since 1973 and has thus been making a significant contribution to the promotion of biomedical research in Switzerland for over half a century.

The foundation fulfils its mission by awarding the prestigious Cloëtta Prize for outstanding scientific achievements. Since its inception, the prize has provided important impetus for medical innovation and raised the profile of excellent research.

It is also committed to promoting young scientists, among other things through research positions that have been awarded since 1983 and through the Clinical Medicine Plus programme, which has been strengthening the link between clinical medicine and basic sciences since 2010. This creates a network that sustainably connects science, clinical practice and society.
